Students—Next week is our first spirit week of the year—Red Ribbon Week! Each day we will have dress up days AND fun activities to do during lunch!

On Monday, wear you wackiest clothes to tell others it’s WACK to do drugs! On Tuesday, wear your favorite superhero outfit because REAL heroes don’t do drugs! On Wednesday, wear your comfiest PJs (school dress code applies, NO slippers) to show everyone that at Vaca Pena, we wake UP drug free! On Thursday, wear red clothes to show your commitment to being drug free. On Friday, wear your favorite sports team or your OWN jersey because at Vaca Pena, we TEAM UP against drugs!

Don’t forget to stop by the WEB/Student Council table every day at lunch! On Monday and Tuesday, stop by to sign your pledge to be drug free on our school’s Drug Free poster! All students who sign and commit to being drug free will get a “Drug Free” wristband. On Wednesday and Thursday, stop by to sign your name to a red ribbon, which will be tied to the fence in front of the school. All students who sign a ribbon will get a red “Promise to be Drug Free” ribbon ring.

NEXT week will have our annual door decorating contest. Our theme this year is Halloween OR Fall and doors will be judged by Leadership students on Friday during study hall. Bonus points will be given out this year to doors that display student made decorations and demonstrate the largest group of student involvement (for example, all students decorate something fall themed and hang it on the door). The winning class will receive tickets for a FREE slurpee! We hope you join us for this friendly competition.
